Afro Melodic House has always been about rhythm, soul, and connection — and for DJ Tanah Luna, it was the gateway into her journey behind the decks. What began as hours of experimenting at home soon led to her first mixtape on SoundCloud, where she shared her passion for deep grooves and Afro-inspired sounds with the world. That first step marked the beginning of her path as a DJ and artist.

When I think back to how I started as a DJ, it all began with curiosity and a love for Afro Melodic House. The deep grooves, hypnotic basslines, and uplifting energy of the genres spoke to me in a way no other music had before. I wanted to understand how those Melodic and Deep sounds came together — and more importantly, I discovered that I can tell my own story through them.

I started mixing at home, practicing for hours until I felt ready to share my very first mixtape on SoundCloud. It was a mix of Afro House tracks I loved, stitched together with my own sense of flow and energy. Hitting “upload” on that set was both scary and exciting — it was the first time I let the world hear what I was creating.

They became the seeds of what would grow into DJ Tanah Luna: a sound shaped by Afro Deep and Melodic House, Balinese-inspired elements, and my cultural roots. They also gave me the freedom to explore, experiment, and imagine how my future original tracks could blend seamlessly with the DJ sets I was already playing.

Now, as I prepare to release my own music, it feels like a natural next step. The mixes on SoundCloud were the starting point, and the upcoming tracks will continue that journey — weaving together the beats, melodies, and emotions that first inspired me to press play.
